I’m Freya Holt, a professional ski instructor and the person behind Ski Life.

I love deep powder, an early start and the feeling when a turn finally clicks. But a good ski day doesn’t have to involve the steepest line or perfect conditions. Sometimes it’s finding a little more confidence on a familiar slope.

I’m generous with someone who’s learning and rather less patient with my own untidy technique. I’ll happily talk about the decision behind a great run, then stop for a simple lunch somewhere warm.

My friend Liv usually wants one more lap. I’m usually checking whether our legs agree.
